About

I’m a self-shooting Welsh filmmaker working in the UK and California, specialising in character led documentaries. My debut feature doc DONNA premiered at Frameline International Film Festival in San Francisco in June 2022, before being released in cinemas in the UK by Bohemia media. DONNA was BAFTA Cymru nominated for Best Feature, longlisted for a BIFA Discovery Award, BIFA Best Debut Director and BAFTA Outstanding Debut by a British Director. It is represented for worldwide sales by WIDE, Paris.

My short films have played in over 50 international film festivals. MY MOTHER was awarded Best U.K. Short at Europe's largest LGBTQ+ film festival, the Iris Prize. My 2018 film OVERSHARE premiered in the O2 Arena in London, before completing a sold out theatre run in the U.K. My last short, STRETCH, premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival and was awarded Best Short at the Wales International Documentary Festival. It is currently available for Freeview on short-of-the-week.

I’ve trained with The Scottish Documentary Institute, Ffilm Cymru, the British Council, BFI and NFTS, and was a member of BAFTA Crew 2018-2020. In 2020 I received a John Brabourne Award for Film.

I have a passion for teaching film and I love workshopping ideas with students and mentees. I’m currently in production with my second feature documentary FRIDAYS WITH BARRY, with support from Ffilm Cymru and the TV and Film Charity. I have recently completed an Augmented Reality documentary project for the multi award winning STORYTRAILS, run by Royal Holloway University of London in conjunction with BBC, British Film Institute and the National Film and Television School.
